How to file Online Form 15CA in Income Tax for Remittance Outside India
Maximum amount of remittance individuals can make
Under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme, all resident individuals, including minors, are allowed to freely remit up to USD 2,50,000 per financial year for any permissible current or capital account transaction or a combination of both.
In India in order to make payment outside India there are various compliance which a person is required to comply, one of such compliance is filing of Form 15CA. The basic purpose of the form is to collect taxes at the stage when the remittance is made as it may not be possible to collect tax from the non-resident at a later stage. Form 15CA is submitted by a person when making the remittance to a Non resident or a foreign company. Form 15CA is to be submitted online on the e filing portal. Form 15CA has been classified into 4 parts it is as follows:
PART A: – To be filled if the remittance is chargeable to tax under the Income Tax Act and such remittance or aggregate remittance does not exceed 5 lakh rupees during the F.Y.
PART B: – To be filled if the remittance is chargeable to tax under the Income Tax Act and such remittance or aggregate remittance does not exceed 5 lakh rupees during the F.Y and an order /certificate u/s 195(2)/ 195(3)/197 of Income Tax Act has been obtained from the A.O. (Whether Nil rate or Lower rate Certificate).
PART C: – To be filled if the remittance is chargeable to tax under the Income Tax Act and such remittance or aggregate remittance does not exceed 5 lakh rupees during the F.Y and a Certificate in Form 15CB from a Chartered Accountant
PART D: – To be filled if the remittance is not chargeable to tax under Income Tax Act
Depending on the above situation the assessee has to fill the respective part of Form 15CA respectively.
Individual is not required to furnish the information in Form 15CA and 15CB for remittance which requires no RBI approval. Below is the list where form 15CA/ CB is not required as per Income Tax, For Nature of Payment other than listed below Individuals have to file Form 15CA and Form 15CB as per rules.

Procedure to file form 15CA online:
Step 1: Go to https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ and Login to E filing portal
Step 2: Now, go to E file tab and click on “Income Tax Forms”

It will direct you to Income tax form page
Step 3: Select “Form 15CA- Information for payment to Non-resident” from the Form Name drop down

Select Submission mode as “Prepare and Submit Online” and click on “Continue” button
Step 4: Filing of Form 15CA
After step 4 a pop up will appear where you will be prompted to select the Part of 15CA which you want to fill, we will be filling Part A and Part B in this article.

A. Filling of Part A
Select Part A from the drop down and click on “continue” button. It will redirect to Form 15CA page.
Click on “Part A” tab and fill the following details in form (15CA- Part A):
- Enter the details of the remitter like name of the remitter, TAN of remitter (if available), Address of the remitter, Phone and mail id of the remitter
- Enter the status of the remitter i.e. whether he is a Individual, firm or company
- Enter the residential status of the remitter
- Enter the details of the remittee i.e. the person who is receiving the remittance the details include like name of the remittee, PAN or TAN of remittee (if available), Address of the remittee, Phone and mail id of the remittee
- Country to which the remittance is made
- Enter the remittance details as follows:
- Amount payable before TDS
- Aggregate amount of remittance made during the year including the proposed/ current remittance
- Name and Branch details of the bank through which the remittance is made
- Proposed date of remittance
- Provide the nature of remittance as per the agreement or the document
- Furnish the relevant purpose code as per RBI
- If TDS is been deducted from the remittance then provide the Amount of TDS deducted
- Provide the rate at which TDS is been deducted
- Provide the Date of deduction of TDS
After filing the above form fill the verification tab and click on “Preview and Submit” button
Your form will get submitted online.
B. Filing of Part B
Select Part B from the drop down and click on “continue” button. It will redirect to Form 15CA page.
Click on “Part B- Section A” tab and fill the following details in form (15CA- Part B):
- Enter the details of the remitter like name of the remitter, TAN of remitter (if available), Address of the remitter, Phone and mail id of the remitter
- Enter the status of the remitter i.e. whether he is a Individual, firm or company
- Enter the residential status of the remitter
- Enter the details of the remittee i.e. the person who is receiving the remittance the details include like name of the remittee, PAN or TAN of remittee (if available), Address of the remittee, Phone and mail id of the remittee
- Fill the details of the assessing officer order received the detail include:
- Section under which
- Name of the Assessing officer who issued the order/ certificate
- Designation of the assessing officer who issued the order/ certificate
- Date of order/ certificate
- Order/ certificate number
Now, Click on “Part B- Section B” tab and fill the following details:
- Country to which the remittance is made
- Currency in which the remittance is made
- Enter the remittance details as follows:
- Amount payable in foreign currency and Indian rupees
- Name and Branch details of the bank through which the remittance is made
- Proposed date of remittance
- Provide the nature of remittance as per the agreement or the document
- Furnish the relevant purpose code as per RBI
- If TDS is been deducted from the remittance then provide the Amount of TDS deducted
- Provide the rate at which TDS is been deducted
- Provide the Date of deduction of TDS
After filing the above form fill the verification tab and click on “Preview and Submit” button
Your form will get submitted online.
