New Delhi, the 21st August, 2021

No. 13-CA (EXAM)/N/2021.—In pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to notify that the next Chartered Accountants Foundation, Intermediate (IPC) (Old Scheme), Intermediate (New Scheme), Final (Old Scheme as well as New Scheme) Examinations will be held on the dates and places which are given below provided that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear from each of the below mentioned places.

Similarly, Examinations in Post Qualification Course under Regulation 204, viz.: Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination, International Trade Laws and World Trade Organisation (ITL & WTO) Part I and International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) (which is open to the members of the Institute) will be held on the dates and places (centres in India only) which are given below provided that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear from each of the below mentioned places.

1. FOUNDATION COURSE EXAMINATION – Under NEW SCHEME

It may be emphasized that there would be no change in the examination schedule in the event of any day of the examination schedule being declared a Public Holiday by the Central Government or any State Government / Local Holiday.

Candidates may note that Paper(s) 3 & 4 of Foundation Examination are of 2 hours duration. Similarly, Elective Paper – 6 of Final Examination (under New Scheme) is of 4 hours. However, all other examinations are of 3 hours duration, and the examination wise timing(s) are given below:

The December 2021 will also be held at the 8 (Eight) overseas examination centres, namely

OverseasAbu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kampala (Uganda), Kathmandu, Kuwait, Muscat

The Examination commencement timings at Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat Centres will be 12.30 PM i.e. Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat local time corresponding / equivalent to 2 PM. (IST). The Examination commencement timing at Bahrain, Doha, Kampala and Kuwait Centre will be 11.30 AM i.e. Bahrain / Doha / Kampala / Kuwait local time corresponding / equivalent to 2 PM. (IST). The Examination commencement Timing at Kathmandu (Nepal) Centre will be 2.15 PM Nepal local time corresponding / equivalent to 2 PM (IST).

The Council reserves the right to withdraw any city / centre at any stage without assigning any reason.

4. Online filling up of examination forms:

Applications for admission to Foundation, Intermediate (IPC), Intermediate & Final Examinations; Candidates are required to apply on-line at https://icaiexam.icai.org from 16th September, 2021 to 30th September, 2021 and remit the examination fee on-line by using VISA or MASTER or MAESTRO Credit / Debit Card / Rupay Card / Net Banking / Bhim UPI. They shall however, be required to remit additional Rs. 600/- towards late fee (for Domestic & Kathmandu centres) and US$ 10 (for Overseas centres) in case the application on-line is made after 30th September, 2021 and upto 3th October, 2021.

Further, applications for admission to Post Qualification Course Examinations i.e. Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination, International Trade Laws and World Trade Organisation (ITL & WTO) Part I and International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) (which is open to the members of the Institute) are required to apply on-line at pqc.icaiexam.icai.org from 16th September, 2021 to 30th September, 2021 and remit the examination fee on-line by using VISA or MASTER or MAESTRO Credit / Debit Card / Rupay Card / Net Banking / Bhim UPI. 5. Examination Fee

The late fee for submission of examination application form after the scheduled last date would be Rs. 600/- (for Indian / Kathmandu Centres) and US $ 10 (for Abroad Centres) as decided by the Council.

OPTION TO ANSWER PAPERS IN HINDI:

Candidates of Foundation, Intermediate (IPC) (Old Scheme), Intermediate (New Scheme) and Final (Old & New Scheme) Examinations will be allowed to opt for English / Hindi medium for answering papers. Detailed information will be found in guidance notes hosted at https://icaiexam.icai.org. However the medium of Examinations will be only English in respect of Post Qualification Course viz.: Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination, International Trade Laws and World Trade Organisation (ITL & WTO) Part I and International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT).

UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R

We have heard learned counsel for the parties. Initially, multiple issues were agitated before us, but eventually, we have confined our consideration only to one aspect of making the comprehensive scheme for optout. The Institute in response to the deliberations in Court yesterday, has submitted a note in respect of the facilities, relaxations and arrangements for the candidates in the following terms: –

1Opt-out facility to the candidates.Currently Opt-out option is given in case the examinee or his family members residing in the same premises are infected with COVID-19 on or after 21.06.2021 till the completion of the Examinations on production of COVID-19 positive RT PCR Report. In addition to the above, the Opt-out option shall also be extended to those candidates (whether under the Old or New Syllabus) who have recently suffered from COVID-19 or yet to recover from the after effects of the COVID-19 and consequently unable to appear in the Examinations on production of Medical Certificate issued by Registered Medical Practitioner that the candidate has recently suffered from COVID-19 and is yet to recover. The  ertificate should bear the registered number of the Practitioner.   The Certificate may be issued by District Medical Officer, Primary Health Centres, Government General Hospitals, Private Hospitals and Registered Medical Practitioners.   Such medical certificate will be in addition to the relevant RT PCR Report.
2.SOP re. Examination Centres.ICAI submits that all the Examination Centres shall follow Government guidelines relating to Covid-19 strictly to ensure health and safety of the examinees. Seating areas shall be adequately sanitized and disinfected. Adequate gap between the candidates shall be maintained. Hand sanitizer would be ade available at the Examination venues.   Only schools, colleges and other academic  institutions have been chosen to be Examination Centres. Marriage Halls, Banquet Halls etc., have not been hired for the purpose of the Exam.
3.Examination FunctionariesICAI assures that all the Invigilators, Supervisors at the Examination Venue wear the masks and maintain social distancing. Further, all the Examination functionaries shall carry ‘No Risk Status’ in Aarogya Setu App installed in their Mobile.
4.Last Minute change of Examination Centres.In case there are any last minute changes in the Examination Centres due to operational or logistical reasons, the candidates would be given an option to opt-out of the Examination only in case of inter-city change. No Opt-out option will be given where the change does not involve change of city.
5.Examination in Groups of Papers.The Scheme of the Examination envisages that a candidate has to appear and qualify in two sets of subject Groups both in Inter and Final.   If the Opt-out option is exercised while the  Examinations are in progress, the candidate has to re-appear in all the papers that constitute a Group as per the requirements of the Chartered  Accountants Regulations, 1988. However, if the candidate has appeared in all the Papers that constitute a Group, there is no need to appear in the said Group once again if he/she passes that Group.
6.Waiver of Articleship period.Articleship is a way of on-the-job training to equip the students with the skills required in the practical aspects of the profession. It is a statutory requirement as per the Regulation. There is flexibility of completion of articleship as per the discretion of the Principal professional under whom the student is undergoing training. Therefore, it is not possible for complete waiver of the articleship.
7.Transportation facilities / Vaccination of CandidatesICAI is not in a position to provide transportation facilities / vaccination of candidates, as prayed for by the Petitioner.

In our opinion, the arrangement provided in clause No. 1 above in particular, is inadequate. Instead, it needs to be expanded in the following terms:

A candidate shall be entitled to exercise the option of opting out if he/she personally, or any of his/her family member, has suffered COVID-19 in the recent past and the fact is so certified by a Registered Medical Practitioner, as a result of which he/she is unable to appear in the ensuing examination or, for that matter, is disabled in preparing for the examination. That will not be considered as an attempt in the examination as such. Such candidate will be permitted to
appear in the follow up (back up) examination, to be conducted for the old as well new syllabus, subject to conducive situation prevailing at the relevant time. We make it clear that the candidate need not produce RTPCR report if medical certificate issued by the registered Medical Practitioner for himself/herself or his/her family member is presented alongwith the request for optingout.

(ii) As regards candidates affected due to lock down during the relevant period of examination, we are informed that the Scheme itself provides that such candidate will be entitled to opt-out and will not be treated as an attempt. That candidate would be permitted to appear in the back up examination, to be conducted by the Institute in due course.

(iii)As regards the logistical arrangements at the examination centre, both in respect of infrastructure and human resource, the Institute shall ensure that there is strict adherence to the standard operating procedure notified by the competent authority, including the Disaster Management Authority.

(iv) If any candidate is attempting examination and in the midst of that suffers from Covid-19 ailment, as a result of which, is unable to appear in the remaining subjects, would be entitled to opt-out and will not be treated as an attempt. He/she can appear in the back-up examination, to be conducted by the Institute, as per the rules as noted in aforementioned Note at Serial No. 5.

(v) In case of last-minute change of examination centre, we disapprove the suggestion of the Institute – that if the change is within the same city, it will not be open to the candidate to opt-out. Instead, we direct that the Institute shall permit such candidate to opt-out in case, of last-minute change of examination centre, which will not be treated
as an attempt in the examination and such candidate shall be permitted to appear in the back-up examination, to be conducted by the Institute at appropriate time, when the situation is conducive in that regard.

This would assuage the apprehension of the candidates regarding conducive environment made available to them
for appearing in the examination.

As no other issue is pending for consideration, these petitions and pending application(s) are disposed of
accordingly.

Subject: For taking suo-moto cognizance of our application along with the PIL having diary No. 13269 of 2021 for CA students issue and for urgent listing of PIL

We, a group of CA students, would like to bring this to your kind notice, that our 15 day long offline examination is scheduled to begin from 5th of July and approximately 3 lakh students will be appearing in these exams from all over India.

As you are aware, that the prevailing 2nd wave of COVID-19 virus has made a drastic impact on the lives of Citizens of India and it has impacted each and everyone in some or the other way. With over 3 lakh 85 thousand lives lost until now, many of the CA students lost their family members during these past few months.

We are writing this letter to you to raise a few concerns which have been raised by the students before the Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of India (Hereinafter referred to as “the institute”) but the Institute has failed to address these concerns in totality. The concerns have been reproduced below in alphabetical manner:

A. No Opt-Out Option has been provided to the students

The students have approached the ICAI to provide an Opt-Out Option for the upcoming exams, wherein a student who is not able to appear for the upcoming exams either because he contracts COVID-19 virus during the exam period or because any of his family member contracts the COVID-19 virus or for any other medical emergency in family or for some other reason due to pandemic, then he can Opt-Out for this exam cycle and appear in the next exam before November cycle.

It is pertinent to note that, during this whole pandemic situation since past 1.5 Years, it has been a standard practice of the institute to provide the students with an Opt-Out option but to our utter surprise the institute has failed to do so this time when the severity and effects of this virus has brought the whole nation & its healthcare sector down on its knees.

Further, at the time of May 2020 exam cycle, a PIL was filed in the Supreme Court of India by Advocate Anubha Shrivastava Sahai being W.P.(C) No. 000601/2020 wherein during the course of arguments on 29th June 2020, the court strongly objected for not providing opt out till the last paper and suggested the institute to provide the same till last paper of the examination cycle and when the Advocate appearing for the institute tried to argue against it, the hon’ble court directed the institute to be flexible and not rigid, as it would be very unjustified for the students who are unable to appear for these upcoming exams due to the effects of COVID-19.

Further, majority of the students that will be appearing for these exams belong to the age group of 18-45 and have not been fully vaccinated yet, this puts the students at a high risk of getting sick during the conduct of the exams. Also, if we have a look at the effects of 2nd wave of COVID-19, it has been more drastic than the 1st Wave of COVID-19 especially on the young population of the country, yet the relief of Opt-Out Option that was provided to the students who appeared for the exams during the 1st Wave of COVID-19 has not been extended to the students who will be appearing for the exams during this wave, making the institute very biased and unjust towards the students.

B. No Extension Of Old Course Attempts

The Institute has been currently running two courses simultaneously namely Old Course and New Course, both the courses have a vast difference if we compare the syllabus. Further, this examination attempt of July 2021 is the last attempt for the students of Old Course to clear their exams and if they are unable to appear for the exams this time, they will be forcefully shifted to the new course and will have to study the syllabus all over again.

Sir, you will understand that many of these old course students will not be able to appear for the examination in the coming exam cycle of July 2021 and it is due to this they will be shifted to the new course forcefully and all the efforts and years they have put in to study the old course syllabus will be wasted and it would be very harsh and rigid to do so, especially when the whole nation is suffering from a pandemic.

C. No Additional attempt for the students who are unable to appear

Sir, the institute has a standard practice to conduct the exams twice a year, one in the month of May and the other in the month of November. It is pertinent to note that, against its standard practice of conducting the exams twice a year and in the interest of the students at large, the institute while conducting the November 2020 exams not only provided the students with an Opt-Out option which was exercisable until the last exam of the cycle but it also provided the students with an additional attempt in January 21 i.e. the students suffering from the effects of COVID-19 were provided with an option to Opt-Out and appear for exams in January 21, but no such additional attempt has been provided to the students of July 2021 attempt which is unfair when we compare it to the benefits that were extended to the students that appeared for the exam in November 2020.

As you are aware, sir, recently while deciding the case of cancellation of CBSE exams, during the course of arguments, when CBSE wanted to conduct the exams for its students, the Hon’ble Supreme Court asked for a proper justification from CBSE to depart from its decision to cancel the exams during the pervious year since the conditions have worsened now as compared to the last year. Applying the same principle in this case it is most humbly requested that an additional attempt should also be provided to the CA students of July 2021 as it was provided to the CA students who appeared for the exams in November 2020 attempt.

It is our humble and sincere request to please take suo-moto cognizance of the issues raised above on an urgent & priority basis since not much time is left for the examination and pass urgent directions for listing of the matter.

We request the office of your good-self to please take suo-moto cognizance of this matter in the interest of Justice. We are hopeful that the said issues will not be rendered remediless only because of lack of finances.

Also, We would most humbly like to request the Hon’ble Supreme Court that in order to save precious time of this court, this matter should be clubbed with PIL having diary No. 13269 of 2021 that has been filed with regards to the upcoming exams in July 2021 and to list the matter under extremely urgent category as the exams are going to begin from 5th July and admit cards are to be released today.

PRAYER

1) Please take suo-moto cognizance of our application along with the PIL having diary No. 13269 of 2021 for CA students issue and for urgent listing of PIL;

2) Direct ICAI to provide an Opt-Out option to the students who are unable to appear for the exams due to COVID-19.

3) Direct ICAI to increase the number of attempts for Old Course Students.

4) Direct ICAI to conduct an additional examination attempt for students who cannot appear for the upcoming exams due to COVID-19.

We request you to consider the above matter and pass appropriate directions.

Important Announcement

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT EXAMINATIONS, MAY/ JULY 2021

In continuation of the ICAI Announcements dated 5th June 2021 whereby it was announced that the Chartered Accountant (Final, Intermediate/ IPC and PQC Courses) Examinations are scheduled to be held from 5th July 2021 to 20th July, 2021 and Chartered Accountant (Foundation) Examination on July 24th, 26th, 28th and 30th, 2021 from 2 PM to 5 PM (IST).

In this regard it is hereby informed that:

1. In case Examinee himself / herself or his / her grandparents, parents, spouse, children & siblings (residing in the same premises) are infected with Covid – 19, such examinees will be provided “opt out option” (with carryover of fee paid and exemptions granted) to the November,2021 examination cycle .Examinees availing this facility need to adhere to the following guidelines:

(a) The opt out can be exercised by login into examination portal and submitting Covid-19 positive RTPCR Report, Aadhar Card and self declaration form (as prescribed by ICAI)

(b) The Examinee has to submit the Covid-19 positive RTPCR report issued by the Government recognized laboratory. (It may be noted that all such reports shall be verified by ICAI from the said laboratory and in case the same is found to be false/ fabricated, strict actions as decided by the Committee shall be taken)

(c) The Examinee has to submit his / her Aadhar Card along with Aadhar Card of infected relative, as the case may be.

(d) Examinees may note that Covid-19 positive RTPCR report shall be of a date which is on and after the date of issue of this announcement to any date up to the conclusion of the examination of the course for which the examinee has applied to appear.

(e) Examinees who opt out from May/ July, 2021 Examination cycle will be allowed to write their examinations in November 2021 Examination Cycle. The last attempt of the Old Course for Final and Intermediate (IPC) examinations shall be extended to November 2021 examinations only for those students who are allowed to opt out from May/ July 2021 examinations.

(f) If a Student has opted out in any paper during the entire cycle of the examination then he/she will not be permitted to appear in any of the remaining paper.

(g) If a student has appeared for first group and then opts out before the conclusion of the examination of last paper of the second group, the result of the first group will be declared and opt out option will apply only to the second group.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court by Adv. Anubha Shrivastava Sahai – President India Wide Parents Association Lawyer and Child Rights Activist against the July 2021 CA Exams that are scheduled to commence from 5th July 2021. 

Considering the adverse effect of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, 987 students across 20 states and 3 UTs have approached the Supreme Court seeking several relief measures for students of the CA course including the “Opt-Out Facility” that was given to students during the November 2020 exams.

Adv. Anubha Shrivastava Sahai – President India Wide Parents Association Lawyer and Child Rights Activist tweeted as follows

“16. PRAYER: In view of the above, the humble Petitioner most respectfully prays that this Hon’ble Court may graciously be pleased to: A. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to Quash and Set aside the arbitrary and discriminatory Important Announcements dated 05.06.2021 (Annexure P-8) issued by the Respondent No.2 ‘CAI with respect to the Chartered’ Accountants Examinations, May 2020 cycle which is not having “Opt Out” option and issue new notification providing opt out option for those willing to opt out before and during exam and carry forward all the benefits; and/or

B. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to give an extra chance/extension, Opt-Out to those students who are appearing for Intermediate and, Final Course examination under old syllabus;

C. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to increase the number of  Examination Centres of the captioned CA Examinations, May 2021 cycle, so as to provide at least one Examination Centre in every Districts of India and to conduct examination in a staggered manner; and/or

D. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to grant fresh option to choose Examination Centre to each such aspirant/ student, pursuant to increase in the number of said Examination Centers, without prejudice to the Centre already opted by him/her in lieu of the Important Announcements dated 05.06.2021 which is available from 9th July 2021 till 11 th July 2021; and/or 

E. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to provide Free Transportation and Free Accommodation to the desirous students/ aspirants of the captioned CA Examinations, May 2021 Cycle during the period of 6th July, 2021 to 20th July, 2021 for Intermediate and Final course and 24th July, 2021 onwards for Foundation course candidates near their respective Examination Centers; and/or

F. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to issue necessary orders/ guidelines to the concerned authorities to treat the e-Admit Cards issued to the students/ aspirants of the instant Examinations, as E-passes enabling free movement of such students in all zones, including in containment zones, during their said Examinations; and/or

G. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to provide for at least one stand-by Examination Centre in a nearby location, for those Examination Centres, which are likely to go into containment zone during the period of 06th July, 2021 to 20th July, 2021and 24th July, 2021 onwards; and/or

H. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents herein to conduct mandatory free COVID-19 Tests of all the students/ aspirants and also of the teachers, invigilators and staff deployed at the Examination Centres; and also vaccinate them and start vaccination drive and/or 

I. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents MHA and MoHFW to forthwith formulate and lay down separate, exclusive guidelines for conducting the said CA Examinations; and/or

J. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents declare the results within a time limit and atleast 7 days before the commencement of next exam/cycle and to immediately grant other reliefs, as detailed out in the aforesaid Grounds of the captioned Writ Petition, which are not being reiterated for the sake of brevity and to avoid prolixity; and/or Or

K. As an alternate prayer, Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order or Direction to the Respondents that if adherence to the aforesaid COVID-19 safety measures and vaccination , is not possible by the Respondents, then the Respondent No.2 ICAI be directed to postpone the instant Chartered Accountants Examination scheduled to commence from 06th July, 2021 to any subsequent period, post normalization of COVID-19 crisis and till the completion of vaccination of the students/aspirants, invigilators and other staff but the said exam of May 2021 Cycle should not be taken along with November 2021 Cycle Exam; and/or

L. Pass any other order or direction as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice.

AND FOR THIS ACT OF KINDNESS, THE HUMBLE PETITIONER AS IS DUTY BOUND SHALL EVER PRAY.”

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has not yet responded to the PIL and is all set to conduct the CA Inter and Final Exams from 5th July 2021 onwards, while the CA Foundation Exam is scheduled from 24th July onwards. In fact, earlier this week, ICAI President assured that the institute is expecting a “Conducive Atmosphere” around 5th July for holding the exams.

In continuation to the Announcement dated 27th April, 2021, it is hereby announced for general information that the Chartered Accountants Intermediate (IPC) {Under Old Scheme}, Intermediate {Under New Scheme}, Final {Under Old & New Scheme} and Post Qualification Course, viz.,: Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination and International Taxation —Assessment Test (INTT — AT) of May 2021 Examinations shall now commence from Monday, 5th July, 2021 across the globe. The detailed Schedule / Notifications for the said Examinations will be announced shortly.

Important Announcement by Examination Department, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India 7th November, 2020

1. The ICAI’s Important Announcement dated 23rd October 2020 had prescribed for the “Opt-Out” Scheme for November 2020 examination which was to become operative as under:

In the extant form the “OPT-OUT” Scheme was to be available to the students satisfying any of the following conditions:(a) The students who are currently COVID-19 positive or having symptoms of COVID-19 at any time upto the conclusion of exams;

(b) Whose Family members with whom the students are staying are COVID-19 positive or become COVID-19 Positive at any time upto the conclusion of exams;

(c) If the area in which the student’s residence is located is declared as Containment Zone by the Central Government/State Government/Local Authorities at any time upto the conclusion of exams.2. Considering the requests of large number of students and keeping in view their general well-being and safety, it has been decided that the students who have already submitted online examination application for November 2020 Examination cycle and are satisfying any of the conditions as mentioned in (a) to (c) above will be allowed to OPT-OUT and carry forward their candidature to another examination cycle i.e. November, 2020 Examination Cycle-II to be conducted in the second half of January 2021/ first half of February 2021. In this case, the examination fees and exemption, if any, of the particular student will automatically be shifted and carried forward to next examination i.e. November 2020 cycle-II and this attempt (November 2020) will not be counted. The student will not be required to apply afresh or pay any fees for November 2020 Examination cycle-II at the relevant time. Announcement with detailed schedule shall be issued in second half of December 2020. Further;

(i) In case the student appears for some of the papers in a particular group and subsequently he/she opts out for any of the reasons as mentioned in (a) to (c) above, then he/she has to appear for all papers of the Group in the next examination cycle i.e. shifting of some of the paper(s) of the same Group is not allowed;

(ii) In case a student appears for all papers in a Group and subsequently opts out for other group for any of the reasons as mentioned in (a) to (c) above, then the group in which he has appeared shall be taken as completely appeared and the student has to write other group in the next examination cycle.3. Alternatively students who are satisfying any of the conditions as mentioned in (a) to (c) above shall be allowed to opt out from November 2020 examination and appear in May 2021 examination at his/her option. However, he/she will have to fill fresh examination form/apply afresh for May 2021 examination at the relevant time. His / Her Examination fees will be adjusted and only differential fees, if any, will be charged (In case he/she has filled the form for November 2020 exams for one group only and in May 2021 exams cycle, he/she opts to appear in both groups, then, he/she will be required to pay the differential fees).

4. Procedure for availing OPT–OUT facilitya) Submit a declaration online available at https://icaiexam.icai.org from 7th November, 2020 (Saturday) 9.00 PM Onwards.

b) On submitting the declaration, candidature of the student for November 2020 Examination Cycle-I will be cancelled and he/she will be given the option to:

i) shift in next November 2020 Examination Cycle-II /tranche-II (to be scheduled in the second half of January 2021 / first half of February 2021)

ii) appear in May 2021 Examination Cycle

c) Kindly note that once option for “Opt out” is taken, it will be treated as final. No request for its change will be entertained under any circumstances.5. For remaining students who choose not to opt out, and appear for the exams commencing from 21st November 2020, the Institute has made all the required and necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of November 2020 examination (commencing from 21st November, 2020) across the globe including strict adherence to the precautions / measures related to COVID–19 which include thermal scanning, hands’ sanitization, wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing at all times, following Government guidelines, etc. for the examinees / centre functionaries during the conduct of Chartered Accountant Examination.
