Online Process to change mobile number and email id on GST portal after registration
A person is compulsorily required to register under GST in case the person crosses the threshold limit of Rs. 20 Lakh and Rs. 10 lakh in case of special category state during the year. The applicant once eligible for GST registration has to obtain GST certificate through GST portal. Once the GST certificate is obtained the supplier can make amendment or changes in the GST certificate or GST registration details.
The provision of amendment of GST certificate is covered in section 28. Except for changes in some core information in the registration application, a taxable person shall be able to make amendment s without requiring any specific approval from the tax authority. In case the change is for legal name of the business or the state of place of business or additional place of business or addition, deletion or retirement of partners, directors etc. The taxable person will apply for amendment within 15 days of the event necessitating the change. The proper officer will approve the amendment within the next 15 days.
For other changes like email ids, mobile number etc. no approval of the proper officer is required and the amendment can be affected by the taxable person on his own on the common portal. In this article we will know how to change mobile and email id on GST portal after registration.

Below is the procedure to change the mail and mobile on GST portal:
Step 1: Go tohttps://www.gst.gov.in/ and login to GST portal using your Login credentials like USER ID and password.
Step 2: Now, go to “Service: tab and Select “Amendment of registration Non- Core fields”
Step 3: Now, Go to Promoter/ Partner tab and click on edit button
Now make the changes in the mobile no and mail id column and click on “Save” button
Step 4: Final submission
Now, go to “Verification” tab and Select the authorized signatory name and place/ Select the declaration and select the mode of submission i.e. Submit through DSC (Digital signature) or EVC code.
Once the application is submitted. The application will get processed within 1 to 2 hours and the contact details will get updated.
