The 12A registration is obtained to gain exemption from payment of Income tax. 12A registration is applied immediately after formation. The registration process is available to all non profit entity.
Following are the details required for 12A registration:
- Self Certified copy of the trust deed which was used to create the trust or establish the institution shall be submitted.
- It is necessary to submit a self-certified copy of the trust registration certificate, which was made with the applicable authority. The applicable body may be the Registrar of Companies, the Registrar of Firms and Societies or Registrar of Public Trusts.
- Annual financial statements for three preceding financial years
- Note on the activities conducted by the trust
