Fortune India published a list of the highest tax-paying celebrities in India for the 2023-24 financial year. Unsurprisingly, superstar Shah Rukh Khan topped the list, having paid ₹92 crore in taxes. His impressive earnings were expected due to a successful 2023, which featured three blockbuster releases. Notably, the margin by which he outpaced the other celebrities was remarkable. Following Shah Rukh Khan was Tamil star Vijay, affectionately known as Thalapathy by his fans, who paid ₹80 crore in taxes. He was closely followed by Salman Khan with ₹75 crore, Amitabh Bachchan with ₹71 crore, and Virat Kohli with ₹66 crore. The highest-ranked female celebrity on the list was Kareena Kapoor, who ranked just outside the top ten with ₹20 crore in taxes paid.
