Step wise Online Process to Donate to  Ram Janambhoomi and get tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961

Introduction

Ram Janambhoomi is the Birth place of Rama, who is also believed the be the 7th avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu. The location of this birth play is situated on the banks of Sarayu river in the city of Ayodhya.

The Bhumi Pujan of the Ram Lalla Mandir is nearing and the first foundation stone laying ceremony for the same will be most likely performed by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 5th August 2020. The construction work of the temple will began once the Bhumi Pujan ceremony is completed.

The work related to the construction will be done by Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust. The Trust shall accept donations in cash or kind including immovable property without any conditions by any person.

Huge amount of Donations by devotees are being received  for the construction of this temple from across the globe.  In this article we will understand the Donation options to make the donations, Information required and step wise process of making the online donations, and the Income tax benefit a person will be eligible for making the donations.

4) Further enter your Name, Date of Birth (For Personal  Banking) / Incorporation (For Corporate Banking)  & Mobile Number. This is required to reprint your e-receipt / remittance(PAP) form, if the need arises.

Income Tax benefits on Contribution made

Donation to Shree Ram Janambhoomi Teertha Kshetra, Ayodhya is 50% exempted from Income Tax under Section 80G read with Section 80G(2)(b) of the Income Tax Act , 1961 for Financial Year 2020-21.

The donations made under 80 G can help you save your income tax. Section 80 G allows exemption of tax by exempting donations made to prescribed funds and institutions as a deduction from gross total income before arriving at the taxable amount. Further the Central Government in  the exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961 has declared Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra (Pan: AAZTS6197B) to be place of historic importance and a place of public worship of renown or the purposes of the said section from the year F.Y. 2020-2021, Vide Notification S.O. 1434 (E) [No. 24/2020/F. No. 176/8/2017/ITA-I], Dated 8-5-2020.

If Mr. A donates Rs. 1,00,000 for Shree Ram Janambhoomi Teertha Kshetra he will get exemption of Rs. 50000 (50% of Rs 100000)  from his income and his proportionate tax liability will be reduced accordingly which is to be paid to the Income Tax Department.
