IT Refund Pending as Taxpayers have not pre validated Bank Account? Know steps to do Online

The Finance Minister through the 20 Lakh crore stimulus package has announced that all the assessee will receive their income tax refund irrespective of there amount of refund pending with the department. But many assessee are facing problem as they are not receiving the refund in their account. The department has clarified that in order to claim the Income tax refund the assessee has to do one more additional step.

The Income Tax Department has communicated the assessee on mail and mobile number to pre validate the bank account number in which the assessee wants to receive the income tax refund once the ITR is filed successfully. Also, the assessee is required to link the PAN with the bank account. In case the bank account is not linked with the bank account as you will not get the Income tax refund. These tax refunds will be credited only to those bank accounts which are linked with PAN and are also pre-validated on the income tax e-filing website. In this article we will discuss on how to pre validate the bank account on e-filing website.

Procedure to Pre validate Bank account:

Below is the procedure to Pre validate your bank:

Step 1: Go to https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home

Login to the portal using your e filing USER ID and Password

Step 2: Now, under profile settings go to “Pre validate Your Bank Account”

Step 3: Now, click on “Add” button.

Enter the details of Bank like:

a. Bank a/c number

b. Account type

c. IFSC code

d. Mobile number and mail id linked to the account

and click “Pre validate” button.

Once the pre validation is done submission screen will appear which will show the transaction id. The status of the pre validation will be send on your mail id registered on e-filing website.
