ICAI – Notification on CPE for Chartered Accountants
Important: Comply with the mandatory CPE hours’ requirements for the Calendar Year 2022 and of the block period (2020-2022) till 31st December 2022
The Continuing Profession Education Committee of ICAI is working relentlessly for updating the knowledge and skill set of members to remain in tandem with the latest developments taking place in the current professional scenario. As you are aware that even during the difficult phase of COVID-19 pandemic, when public gathering was restricted, the CPE Committee continues to impart learning to the members of ICAI using the latest technology.
We are thankful to our members for embracing technology whole-heartedly and continuously learning and enhancing their knowledge base through Offline/Online CPE programmes in the form of Seminars/VCMs/Refresher Courses, etc. and also, through Digital Learning Hub of ICAI.
We are happy to inform that many members have already complied with the CPE hours’ requirements for the Calendar Year 2022 and of the block period (2020-2022) which is going to end on 31st Dec 2022.
In furtherance to the above, we would like to inform that the CPE hours requirements to be complied with by various categories of members for the block period of three years (1.1.2020 to 31.12.2022) are available on CPE Portal at https://www.cpeicai.org/cpe-hoursrequirements/
Details with regard to login by members to check their updated CPE hours (Structured and Unstructured).
Details with regard to completion of Structured/ Unstructured CPE hours in online mode. It may also be noted that if a member has completed all Structured CPE hrs (as required) through physical CPE Events only in the block period/Calander year, as the case may be, then also he has complied with the requirements.
It has also been noticed that some of the members who have completed their Unstructured Learning Activities (ULAs) have not updated its details on the CPE Portal. Accordingly, it is requested to kindly update the CPE Hours credit of unstructured learning on the CPE portal, if not updated, on regular basis as per your convenience to avoid last minute hardships.

We would also like to reiterate that the CPE Committee and other CPE POUs of ICAI has been organising various Webinars/Seminars/Train the Trainer programmes in which members can participate to get CPE hours. Accordingly, please complete your CPE Hours requirements for Calendar year 2022 and Block Period (1/1/2020-31/12/2022) latest by December 31, 2022, as no extension will be provided for the same.
We may also like to inform here that the online updated status of CPE hours credits of respective members for the Calendar year 2022 and entire block period (Structured or Unstructured) is available on the URL: http://www.cpeicai.org under member’s login as per the attendance uploaded by the CPE programme organising units on the CPE Portal as on date. For viewing the status, members may login as under:-
The User ID is Six Digit Membership Number
Default password: cpe+6 digit membership number.
Members are requested to view their CPE hours’ status till date and in case of any discrepancy, they may contact the concerned Programme Organising Units (POUs) for credit of Structured CPE Hours. For completion of Structured CPE hours in online mode, kindly refer below:-
For Calendar year 2020 and 2021
“Requirement of 20 Structured CPE hours which is mandatory to be completed by Members below 60 years holding COP during each calendar year (including mandatory CPE hours on “Code of ethics” and “Standard on auditing”), can be completed either through Digital Learning Hub/VCMs or attending the physical cum virtual CPE event in online mode during Calendar Year 2020 and 2021. CPE hours obtained in online mode over and above 20 Structured CPE hours shall continue to be counted as Unstructured CPE Hours for compliance purpose. However, total Structured CPE hours obtained in physical mode (apart from online mode) shall continue to be counted as Structured CPE Hours as earlier.”
For Calendar year 2022
Out of 20 Structured CPE Hours which is mandatory to be completed by Members below 60 years holding COP, in Calendar year 2022 (including mandatory CPE hours on “Code of ethics” and “Standard on auditing”), 8 Structured CPE Hours can be completed in virtual mode either through Digital Learning Hub/VCMs . This was made applicable from 1.7.2022 onwards i.e. members who have already earned 8 or more Structured CPE hours in online mode (through VCM/DLH) till 30.06.2022 will get credit on actual basis subject to maximum of 20 Structured CPE hours for the Calendar year 2022
Accordingly, you are once again advised to login into your CPE portal account and verify the same.
Committee would like to apprise you that CPE committee has organising various webinars/seminars/train the trainer programmes in which members can become speaker/writer/moderator which will provide you structured CPE hours. Also, there are some more ways for completion of Structured and unstructured learnings which are mentioned below:

It has also been noticed that some of the members who have completed their Unstructured Learning Activities (ULAs) have not updated its details on the CPE Portal. Accordingly, it is requested to kindly update the CPE Hours credit of unstructured learning on the CPE portal, if not updated, on regular basis as per your convenience.
Hence, members who are yet to complete their respective CPE hours’ requirement for the Calendar year 2022 and of the block period (1/1/2020-31/12/2022), are requested to kindly complete the same at the earliest and latest by 31st December 2022.
