CBI arrest 3 GST officers for accepting bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Superintendent, Central GST-1, Baramati, Pune (Maharashtra) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant. A case was registered against Superintendent, Central GST-1, Baramati, Pune on a complaint. It was alleged that the Superintendent initially demanded undue advantage of Rs.20,000/- & later agreed to accept Rs.10,000/- to settle the labour contract matter of the Complainant. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Superintendent, CGST & Central Excise, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. Two lakh from the Complainant. A case was registered against two Superintendents of CGST & Central Excise, Arera Hills, Bhopal on complaint alleging therein about demand of undue advantage of Rs.10,00,000/- from Complainant for settling the CGST case against his partnership firm. After negotiation, the accused agreed to accept bribe of Rs. Two lakh from the Complainant on 20.04.2022. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. Two lakh from the Complainant.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Recovery officer, DRT-I, Chandigarh for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 70,000/- from the Complainant. A case was registered on a complaint against Recovery Officer, DRT-I, Chandigarh. It was alleged that the Complainant had submitted a bid in an auction for purchasing the Plant & Machinery. As he was the highest bidder, he deposited total amount within stipulated time. It was further alleged that the Complainant submitted affidavit in DRT-I office mentioning therein that some Plant & Machinery were missing and requested that either all the remaining machinery be provided or get an amount equivalent to the missing machinery returned/refunded to him. It was also alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. Two lakh from Complainant for settling his matter and getting his entire amount back. On request of Complainant, the accused had allegedly reduced the amount and asked him to pay the minimum bribe of Rs. 70,000/-. CBI laid a trap and caught the Recovery Officer, DRT-I while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.70,000/- from Complainant.
