Urgent meeting of GST Council’s Law Committee is being convened on 18 November 2020 as per our sources.
Matters that will be discussed includes the issue of GST fake invoice frauds, further tightening of the GST registration process & work out other legal measures w.r.t fake invoicing and GST Compensation to States including West Bengal
As per Sources ,there have been 20,233 cases of GST evasion worth Rs 93,642 crore and 408 people have been arrested since July 2017 to September 2020 in the entire country.
The quantum of GST evasion has been the highest in Maharashtra at Rs 20,056 crore followed by 14,022 crore in Delhi & 8,782 crore in Karnataka
